Neck Pain

What is Neck Pain?
Neck pain is a common condition that can result from muscle strain, poor posture, injuries, or underlying medical conditions. It may present as stiffness, discomfort, or sharp pain that limits movement and affects daily activities.
Symptoms of Neck Pain
- Stiffness and reduced range of motion
- Sharp or aching pain in the neck and shoulders
- Headaches stemming from neck tension
- Pain radiating to the arms or upper back
- Muscle spasms
How Osteopathy Can Help:
- Release muscular and fascial tension in the neck, upper back and shoulders that stems from poor posture, stress or overuse.
- Target trigger points in surrounding muscles like the traps, scalanes and levator scapulae that commonly refer to pain into the neck.
- Restore mobility to cervical spine to reduce pain and increase head and neck mobility.
- Improve spinal alignment and load distribution so your neck isn’t overworking to compensate for imbalances elsewhere in the body.
- Support healthy movement between the shoulders and ribs easing tension that can lead to persistent or recurring pain.
- Support recovery after whiplash or strain injuries by restoring soft tissue health, joint mobility and range of motion.
- Joint mobilization – to restore natural movement in the spine, especially for facet sprains.
- Encourage better postural awareness by treating and educating on habits that promote less tension.
At Forme Osteopathy, we take a whole-body approach to identifying the root cause of neck pain.
