Plantar Fasciitis

What is Plantar Fasciitis?
Plantar fasciitis is a common foot condition caused by inflammation or microtears in the plantar fascia — the thick band of connective tissue that supports the arch of your foot. It’s often worse in the morning or after periods of rest.
Symptoms of Plantar Fasciitis
- Sharp, stabbing heel pain (especially first thing in the morning)
- Pain when standing after sitting or resting
- Aching or burning sensation in the sole of the foot
- Tight calves or Achilles tendons
- Reduced foot or ankle mobility
- Pain that increases after long periods of standing or walking
How Osteopathy Can Help
At Forme, we look beyond the foot to find the root cause — from tight calves to poor biomechanics or reduced ankle mobility — and help your body heal as a whole.
Using gentle hands-on techniques such as:
- Releasing tension in the plantar fascia, calves, and Achilles tendon
- Shockwave therapy to plantar fascia to promote healing and reduce pain
- Improving foot and ankle joint mobility to reduce strain
- Addressing knee, hip, and pelvic mechanics that affect foot posture
- Promoting circulation and lymphatic drainage to reduce inflammation
- Reducing compensatory tension in the opposite leg or back
- Supporting healthy walking patterns with postural and movement education
- Encouraging better load distribution through the foot and arch
- Relieving neural tension that may contribute to persistent symptoms
Osteopathy helps relieve plantar fasciitis by easing strain on the fascia, improving foot mechanics, and supporting your body’s natural healing process.
